MOP (Management of Portfolio)

MOP (Management of Portfolio)

MOP is a framework for understanding, prioritizing, and planning a portfolio of business change initiatives; it is a coordinated collection of strategic processes and decisions that together enable the most effective balance of organizational change and ‘business as usual’. MOP (Management of Portfolios) is a set of guidelines, methods, and procedures that can help your business successfully implement portfolio management. MOP is focused on two problems: how to select the projects and programs that will best serve the strategic objectives of your business how to put them into practice to maximize value for clients and other stakeholders Instead of concentrating on the work of individual projects, it focuses on the transformation that project and program management as a whole delivers.

MOP: principles, practices, and procedures for successful portfolio management

MoP® (Management of Portfolios) is comprised of principles, techniques, and practices that will assist your organization in the successful adoption of portfolio management. MOP is concerned with two issues: how to choose the optimal projects and programs to suit your organization’s strategic objectives how to execute them to optimize value for customers and other stakeholders. It focuses on the change delivered by project and program management as a whole, rather than the work of individual initiatives.
MOP is closely aligned with PRINCE2 and MSP.
It helps senior executives and decision-makers to understand how portfolio management can maximize return on investment, and start and sustain transformation.
